RICHARD MALMGREN

Training & Long Lining Clinics

Long Lining
The Swedish way of long lining was invented by the famous Swedish Olympic rider Yngve Viebke, the chief rider at Flyinge “Sweden’s National Stud” from 1948 - 1972. This method of long lining horses is part of the Swedish Riding Academy's curriculum and it is how Richard has been long lining horses since childhood.
In the USA, from California to Maryland to Wisconsin to Florida and everywhere in between, Richard travels the country doing Long Lining clinics. He also have requests to do clinics in Sweden & Germany.

Training
Richard's knowledge and horsemanship is based on the European system of classical dressage. From an early age Richard was taught how to properly bring a horse up through the levels, but his specialty, honed through years of working for Hilltop Farm and Hassler Dressage, is working with young horses.

At his home base in Landrum, SC near Tryon, NC Richard has a few selected sites where he teaches. Occasionally he can take horses in for sessions at Blue Ridge Farm.
